I found this site http://www.photosnack.com/. They have a much higher image quality and can handle a lot more images than the other site I had been using, also you can upload up to 20MB of audio. I used just simple fade and click through templates with either a white or black background.
I could not find a printer willing to print onto tracing paper, so I had to print the covers as they would look with the opacity of the tracing paper wrapped over the really brightly coloured cloth binds. I will continue to find a printer that will print onto some kind of opaque plastic paper and create mock ups of the books and photograph them for my portfolio. However for the mean time the print outs and the two wrapped books I handed up look pretty good and if I cannot get the printers to print onto tracing paper then I am happy to use them. Overall, I am happy with the results of this assignment, I enjoyed doing it and will keep the blog going as a source of inspiration from the work of others I like and also to showcase my future book design work.

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

I made a flash slideshow to display my pictures, however .fla and .swf files are not supported on tumblr and if I converted the file to a .mov it just played straight through as a movie and the button functions became useless. There are however loads of different sites online for making slideshows that can be easily embedded to Tumblr, which are pretty handy for simply displaying slideshows on a blog etc.
I made these four below using http://animoto.com/. They have loads of templates and allow you to create 35sec of slideshow for free, as in, without signing up for a premium account. There were a few others I tried initially and they were awful, really low resolution and huge watermarks and they did not have an option to add audio. There are loads of different templates to choose from, but I wanted to keep mine really simple, like the flash slideshow I made. Given the multi colours and patterns of my book covers and pictures, I felt any other style of slideshow would just be too much and really wouldn’t fit in with the style of my blog. I also really dont like those tacky themed templates with overly busy background images of flowers or fleur de lis patterns etc etc. Obviously if you design your own background etc to suit your images they can work but the generic ones you find on sites like these are generally terrible.
I am happy enough with these ones I generated with animoto, the transitions are good and even the yellow background with the shapes, I quite like, given my general aversion to slideshow backgrounds. However, they can only hold so many pictures and the quality is still not 100%. So I looked around for more ways to upload slideshows to Tumblr.
